As a flying start of the 2018 Qingdao sailing events, Clipper 2017-18 Round the World Yacht Race has set sail from Liverpool of England on August 20, 2017 and will arrive in Qingdao around March 13, 2018. The event this time is the largest in history with over 710 participants from 40 different countries and regions; the sailing ship "Qingdao" has also obtained the best result in history. It is particularly noteworthy that the port of call is set in the West Coast New Area of Qingdao for the first time.
