《三国演义》以蜀汉兴亡为主线,不仅成功地塑造了诸葛亮这个光彩照人的主角,塑造了刘关张、赵云等典型形象,而且以生动传神的文笔,描写了许多益州人士.刘备集团大体上由两部分人组成,一部分是刘备进入益州之前的旧部,另一部分则是刘备在夺取益州的过程中和占领益州之后逐步吸收的蜀中人士.前者是刘备东征西讨二十几年才积聚起来的一点本钱,自然是蜀汉王朝的开国元勋:后者虽然归附刘备较晚。

Song, Yan Yan and Fei Shi, etc, can also be found in the Romance.
