Baoshan Village of Dabao Town, Pengzhou City is the examplary village for realizing a well-off life named by Sichuan Provincial Government. In 1995, its gross output value of industry and agriculture was 197 million yuan and the village possesses 68,000,000 yuan of fixed assets and 36,000,000 yuan of current assets. The per capita net income of local peasants was 392 yuan and the per capita grain ration 551 kilograms, which is in sharp contrast with what it was 20 years ago when the per capita grain ration was only about 70 kilograms and the value of per labour day was only worth 6 cents.
