Chengdu Aircraft Industry Co.is currently China’s first and sole one who manufactures aircraft nose for the McDonald-Douglas Company in the US. The corporation began manufacturing aircraft nose with a contract of 100 aircraft noses from the MD Company in 1988. In 1994, another contract came to the corporation with the order of 100 aircraft noscs. In a period from 1988 to 1996, the company has turned over some 70 qualified aircraft noses to the MD Company, coming to be the sole contractor to manutacture MD-80 serial aircraft noses for MD Company in the world. The company has reached agreements with Boeing Company, airline companies in South Korea and Singapore to manufacture airplane spare parts out of 7 catagories for 9 types of airplane with the total contract value standing at 270 million US dollars. The company is also among the 4 major airliner manufacturers in China with its production pertaining more than 4, 500 kinds of spare parts of airplane and aircraft noses.
