Ever since he came to Sichuan following Master Huang Binhong in 1932, Wu Yifeng,a renowned landscape painter. has lived in Sichuan. He was the first to introduce to the public. through his painting. the five thmous sights in the province. namely Mt. Emei. Mt. Qingcheng, Mt. Doutuan, the Kuimen Gorge and the Jianmen Pass. Every scenic spot he has seen appears in his painting. and because has painted so many pictures of Mt. Doutuan, he is often called "Doutuan Wu". His consummate skill has been praised by master painters in China such as Huang Binhong and Xie Wuliang. Wu Yitbng pays little attention to reputation or money. but much to artistic accomplishment. Through his landscape paintings. he enjoys a good name both at home and abroad.
