摘要
有人说,现在是畅销书时代。而为大多数人所共同热衷的文字又并非是独特文学风格繁衍的产物。于是亲近历史之大家,回顾他们的人品与文品成了世纪末情绪流露之一种。另外对更加世俗化的社会及其所产生的文字,人们倒因了普遍的价值观念的提升而有了距离。此时,若能退一步冷静地旁观,由时代及文学,由文学及生活及自身,也未尝不是享有独立精神方式之一种。或者这就是诗人钟鸣《旁观者》的功效。
It is very phenomenal that big publishing houses and booksellers are making money by publishing the works of Chen Yinke, Wu Mi, Hu Shi and Qian Zhongshu, great masters of Chinese literature, as well as those Rightist writers catering to the readers’ needs of expecting the coming of the new century. Today’s literature is tending to be more and more mediocre, realism is coming into an embarrassed arrogance; and realistic writers have been felt tired by readers for their out-and-out description as well as their detested statements. What I wrote "Onlooker" is to make a conclusion of myself, hopefully to have a comprehensive analysis to the vulgarity of literature and society. I don’t want our readers who have been deeply confused by abstraction and instinct to be affected by those flashy sentences any longer.
