摘要
我到达成都是在1997年的8月。在这之前,我只来过中国一次,那是到深圳的民俗文化村参观了一天。以前,我对中国只有一些粗略的了解,是通过报纸、书籍、图片以及曾在70年代和80年代到过中国的亲朋好友那里得来的。因此我对中国的印象还停留在毛（泽东）时代。
Susan Kaur is from Singapore. She was surprised to see modern buildings and glad that there was access to the Internet and e-mail when she first arrived in Chengdu last year. As she knows that China has got tremendous improvement since the late 1970’s, and Sichuan has also been greatly improved with the help of advancement of technology and science. She thought that Sichuan has great potential for agricultural and food industry especially with its natural resources, agriculture, scenery and people. She enjoy very much the warm-heartedness the of people of Sichuan. However, she thought that Sichuan has to make more efforts to improve its traffic system and train its service people to be courteous, and have a "customer is always right" attitude. This especially crucial at the airports, hotels, banks, restaurants, shopping centers and so on.
