今年是知识青年上山下乡运动30周年。始于1969年的这场运动席卷了几乎整整一代中国青年。在这场运动中上山下乡的知识青年们经历各异、心态也各异,但有一点是共通的,那就是所谓的“知青情结”。人生中的这一段插曲,在他们生命中留下的印痕是那样的深刻,永远都无法解开……
30 years ago Chairman Mao Zedong called on the young people who graduated from high school or middle school to go the countryside to receive the re-education from the peasants. Thus a campaign of going to the countryside that lasted nearly ten years was launched throughout the country and almost a whole generation was involved. Wu Xiaokui was one of the youth to be re-educated then. She stayed in the people’s commune for two years, and learnt almost all the fanning skills. Talking about her days in the countryside, she would always be full of emotion and with mixed feelings. She said: "Thanks to my life in the commune through thick and thin, I enriched my life that provided me with lots of theme materials for rny painting." Wu Xiaokui is now an art editor of Sichuan Opera Art Institute. She still well keeps the woodcuts she made during her stay in the countryside.
