The ohjective of agriculture and rural work of Shanxi Province in this year is: Grain, fruit, animal husbandry and vegetable---four major industries should have a substantial growth. The grain output should strive to reach 10 hillion kg; the dry and fresh fruit output attain 2.5 billion kg; the animl husbandry keep a stable growth continuously; and on the basis of extension area, the vegetable production should devote major efforts to developing fine and slack-season vegetable.On the premise of improving efficiency, the township enterprise should maintain a moderate growth, do well in readjusting product mix and in dustrial structure, and put stress on development of key enterprises engaging in processing of rural and side-line products.The net per-capita income of farmers should reach to 2, 000 yuan. We will exert great efforts to aid-the-poor program and strive to resolve the food and clothing problem of 700,000 poverty-stricken population, to quicken our steps in obtaining a well-off liviog and to realize well-off targets by and large in 18 counties. To ensure realization of these objectives, the province will adopt the following five measures: (1) put forth great efforts to assisting indigent people; (2) basically realizing the targets of well-off living in the whole province within 3 years; (3) accelerating the steps in promoting industrialized management of agriculture; (4) positively and safely promoting rural reform; and (5) continuously doing well in construction of agricultural infrastructure and ecological environment.
