山西从山来说,山区占全省总面积的百分之七十以上。主要的山,东北有恒山、五台山,东有太行,南有王屋、中条,西有吕梁管涔,中有太岳。这些山其高度,多数在海拔两千米以上,其中的五台山为3058米,高居华北与东北众山之首。这些山的一个共同特点是。

Here we will pay special attention to the Yellow River and the Ningwu Tianchi Lake. The Yellow River is mother river of the Chinese nation. Within the boundaries of the province, the length of the Yellow River reaches nearly one thousand li, passing through the province from north to south. The Tianchi is on the south of Ningwu County. It is a group of high mountain lakes with an elevation of over 1, 900 m. There are only five lakes left presently, among them Maying Tianchi is the largest one, 600 m wide from north to south and 800 m long frnm west to east, with a water depth of 15m. Maying Tianchi is surrounded by mountains, even in summer, the air temperature there doesn’t exceed 25℃, rarely found in inland provinces of China. In the east, north and south of the lake group, there is a vast piece of grassland, and in the west it is the Guancen Mountain with a total forest area of 100, 000 mu and more. The Guancen Mountain is a state-level natural reserves and a national forest park.
