黄土地的心声 吕梁山,沟壑纵横,荒山秃岭,生活在这里的人民贫穷落后。造成如此状况的直接原因是严重的水土流失,其程度不仅在中国,在世界上也是之最。这片黄土地平均每年每平方公里水土流失达15800吨,养份流失相当于年施肥量的67％,造成土壤贫瘠,土地质量每况愈下,可耕之地逐年减少。人们为了生存。

Luling Mountain is featured by ravines and gullies crisscross, the people lived here are poor and backward. The direct reason resulted in this situation is serious soil and water erosion, ranking first not only in China but also over the world. Every year, 15, 800 tons of soil is lost from one sq. km area on an average, the lost nutrients equal to 67 percent of applied fertilizer.Nowadays, the Chinese government and the World Food Programme (WFP) conduct a world-famous program " 3923" and hare achieved great results, During the five- year implementation period of the program, 3.265 hectares of terraced field and 62 silt arresters were built with farmland area increased by 16 hectares; 221 km irrigation channel was constructed with irrigated laud area increased by 2, 350 hectares: 13.5 km of downstream river dam was put up with 140 hectares of newly added farmland area; 5. 132 hectares water conservation forest and 1, 800 hectares orchard were established; 199 water supply projects were completed, 114 km rural road was built; and 51,150 persons accepted the training in eliminating illiteracy and 79,000 persons received technical training.
