Reemploymen of Laid-off Workers

近年来,随着国有企业深化改革和所有制结构的调整,山西省先后制定了一系列政策规定,对保障国有企业下岗职工基本生活和再就业工作发挥了重要作用。今年七月,山西省又结合贯彻落实中共中央、国务院有关精神,进一步提出了国有企业下岗职工基本生活保障和再就业工作的实施意见,以此作为深化国有企业改革,维护社会稳定,实现全省“三个基本”目标的重要措施。

Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government set forth this July an implementation guideline for guaranteeing the basic living standard and reemployment for laid-off workers from state-owned companies. The targets outlined are as follows: In 1998, 250, 000 laid -off workers will be guaranteed of the basic living means while half of them will be put back on the payroll. By the year 2000, the reemployment rate will be 70 percent and by the year 2002, a social security and employment mechanism will be institutioned to suit with the socialist market economic system.A reemployment center will be established and funds will be pooled from various channels. The social security system will be improved and the labor market expanded. Off-the-job training will be enhanced to meet with reemployment’s demand and the market for new jobs will be diversified.
