Accomplishment of the Hydraulic Complex of Wanjiazhai Project

引黄入晋的“龙头”、国家重点在建项目——黄河万家寨水利枢纽工程,在上万名水利建设者战风沙、抗严寒、忍荒凉、耐寂寞地艰苦奋斗下,终于迎来了振奋人心的时刻:十月一日,大坝下闸蓄水;十一月二十八日,第一台机组并网发电。看滔滔黄河随我来,引黄工程建设者可以自豪地向全省三千万人民报喜:今日缚住苍龙!

After years of arduous work by thousands upon thousands of people, the hydraulic complex of Wanjiazhai project is going to be completed. Starting on October 1st, the reservoir can be used to store water.The project made great progress in 1998. The main project was finished and the height of the dyke attains 982 meters. People living in that area were relocated appropriately. On October 1st, the reservoir can be used and it marks the completion of the main project. Additionally, power can be generated by the end of the year. Within less than three and a half years, the builders finished this massive project, and it was a big success. They made it a first-rate, high quality work in the history of water conservancy facility construction.
