The Beijing International Electrically Operated and Inactive Fuel Vehicles Technology Exchange Syymposium ’96 was held from December 6th to the 12th in 1996. Both the. Authoritative resources described the show as being the largest exhibition of its kind in the world. The Yungang 6600Methyl Alcohol Vehicle was the showcased vehicle made in China. Several VIP were in attendance ineluding LiPeng, Zou Jiahua, Songjian, Wang Guang Ying."There is an abundant source of coal and by making methyl-alcohol from coal. we can better save oil resources and protect the environment. "LiPeng said.The China Number One vehicle, was produced through the cooperation of Dntong Vehicle Plant. the Ford Vehicle Company and the Thermal Physical Engineer Institute of National Science and Technology. This vehicle uses 100% 93-grade unleaded gas. It can reach speeds of up to 130 kiloreelers per hour while its power output is 116KW.China Number One and similar vehicles can assist in environmental protection efforts and efficient use of natural resources in Shanxi, thereby neeoloing the pollution problems. Mean-while, coal processing is accelerated, thus promoting the economic development. Furthermore, these vehicles promote an evolutionary shift in the focus of industrial structure. Leaders of our provtnce have, then. come to a mutual conclusion as to lhe historical significance of these innovations. A strategic plan fostering favorable conditions to support this ind(?)try has been initiated by the government tn lhe ferm of policies involviug tax. tolls and expenses.
