On June 29 last year when US President Bill Clinton visited China, a grand signing ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the People, at which 7 important contracts andagreements on the economic and trade cooperation with a total sum of nearly 20 billion were signed. Among the contracts, the cooperative contract of the seam gas exploitation and development was signed respectively between China United seam Gas Ltd.Co.and Anchor Company and Phillips Company from the United States with an exploiting investment of 35 million in the development of the seam gas of the Hedong Coalfield. This symbolized that the development of the seam gas in China. And Shanxi in particular, has transformed from the small scaled experimental exploitation to the large-scaled industrialized production exploitation.Hedong Coal fild,taking a leading place in the development of the scam-gas in China,will get into the commercial production,with daily production of 5000 cubic meters of gas on each pit, and the annual production of 30 billion cubic meters,which besides supplying local and Taiyuan conld be sent through pipeline to the neighbouring provinces and cities.
