In August 1991,Dr.Chenning Yang, the world-known physicist and the Nobel Prize winner, was invited to give lectures in Shanxi University and to attend the ceremony of inviting him as the honorable professor of the University,He also gave a lecture on physics to the scientific circles of Shanxi. Then,Dr.yang visied Wutai Mountain,one of the four famous Buddhist shrines in China. In Taiyuan Dr.Yang inscribed for the young scientists of Shanxi. It wrote,"Preferring hardworking rather than cleverness, preferring plainness rather than flauntiness."His concern for the young scientists greatly aroused their enthusiasm for developing Shanxi.
