The year 2005 marks the 60th anniversary of the victory of the world Anti-Fascist War as well as the 60th anniversary of the victory of Chinese Anti-Japanese War. To commemorate solemnly this epoch-making event in the history of human progress and peaceful development, to revisit and remember the enduring feats accomplished by the CPC-led Eighth Route Army for national independence and liberation, and to encourage and promote the Chinese people to strive for the cause of building socialism with Chinese characters, CCTV, CPC Shanxi Publicity Department, Bayi Film Studio, and Shanxi Radio and TV Service have co-produced a 25-episode drama serial "The Eighth Route Army."
