摄影术诞生至今已有160多年的历史。发明了摄影的法国科学家绝没有想到,从他们的故乡走出的这门艺术,已经发展成为人类独特的语言,正是这种语言,担负起了记录历史的重任,也充当着文化交流的使者。在拥有2700年悠久历史的平遥古城,从2001年开始,将摄影艺术搭建成一个国际文化交流的平台,这就是平遥国际摄影大展——PinyaoInternationalPhotographyFestival.
This year marks the 60th anniversaries of Chinese Anti-Japanese War and the World Anti-Fascist War. The theme 'Peace and Progress' adopted by the Pingyao International Photography Festival has been resonating well with photographers the world over. Under this theme, a high note of human peace and progress will echo from the ancient city of Pingyao to all corners of the world and into the future. China boasts several millions of lensmen, for whom the Pingyao International Photography Festival has provided an opportunity to learn from and compare notes with the world. This interaction will play a positive role in boosting humanity's peaceful development and the progress of photography cause.
