世界煤炭看中国,中国煤炭看山西。山西煤炭探明储量两千六百多亿吨,占全国总储量的三分之一。作为全国第一大产、输煤大省,山西在国民经济中的地位举足轻重。然而,山西多年来始终仅仅是资源大省而非经济强省。在世界油价持续上涨,能源形势日趋紧张的今天,举足轻重的煤炭资源优势无非是让山西勉强温饱而已。

China is a major producer of coal in the world while Shanxi is the capital of coal in China.In recent years,guided by the concepts of scientific development,building a harmonious society and a conservation-conscious society, CPC Shanxi committee and Shanxi government have formulated a strategy:to build Shanxi into a new energy and industrial base.Shanxi's coal industry has embarked on a new road of conglomeration,clean technology,diversification and modernity.On the basis of raising excavation level,it has turned its eye on developing recycling economy and downstream coal products in an effort to transform Shanxi from a coal producer into an economic powerhouse.
