Incidental Formulaic Sequences Acquisition in Natural Reading and Listening

本研究考察自然条件下三种信息输入模态(阅读、听读、听力)和词汇出现频率(1次、3次、6次)对成人英语学习者程式语附带习得的影响,结果发现,一方面不同输入模态对程式语附带习得有显著作用,作用大小依次为阅读模态>听读模态>听力模态,阅读模态和听读模态的作用显著大于听力模态的作用;另一方面程式语出现频率对附带习得有显著影响且存在"门槛"效应,当出现频率达到6次时,程式语习得率显著上升。

This study examined the relative efficacy of input modality（reading,reading while listening,listening）and vocabulary frequency（once,three times,six times）in adults＇ incidental acquisition of formulaic sequences.The results showed that different input modalities had a significant effect on the acquisition of formulaic sequences,with reading input modality the biggest.Reading input modality and reading while listening input modality were significantly more effective than listening input modality in facilitating the acquisition of formulaic sequences.The results revealed that frequency of formulaic sequences had a significant effect on the acquisition,and six times,as its threshold,resulted in the significant rise in acquisition rate.
