自1972年在第二届国际数学教育大会上成立数学史与数学教学关系国际研究小组(International Study Group on the Relations between History and Pedagogy of Mathematics,简称HPM)后,人们已逐渐认识到数学史在数学教育中扮演着重要的作用,教材中数学史料的呈现方式也经历了较大的变化.
