The State Administration of safety supervision （[2014]116） has put forward specific requirements for the assessment of the safety instrument system （SIS）. In order to ensure the safety of China＇s high-risk process industry and enable the production of enterprises to run safely and efficiently, this paper describes the process and significance of the safety assessment of safety instrumented system, and points out the misunderstanding in general understanding.
