The TD control process and related parameters were presented, and the solutionto form a film at the welding areas after TD treatment was put forward. Through the testdata from 6 kinds of covered electrode （film thickness, hardness, defect etc.）, two kinds ofthe most suitable were screened. The related matters needing attention in the usage andmaintenance process after TD treatment were summarized, which could provide some refer-ence for the manufacturers.
