A Comparative Study of Undergraduate Education in US between Liberal Arts Colleges and National Universities

对美国文理学院和综合性大学的现状和特色进行了基于数量上的实证比较,结果显示,美国文理学院并不因规模小而逊色于综合性大学。在学校建设、学生来源和捐赠基金等方面二者基本持平。而在师生比例、教师质量、课堂规模和学生对教员的满意程度方面,文理学院优于综合大学。

This research provides a quantitative analysis on the differences in quality between the US liberal arts colleges and US national universities. The results show that US liberal arts colleges,though smaller in scale,are comparable to national universities in terms of their campus development,quality of accepted students,and endowment funding. On the other hand,liberal arts colleges surpass national universities in their faculty and student ratios,teaching quality,class size,and the satisfaction of students.
