The Elixir oflmmortality written by Sweden author Gabi Gleichmann depicted 1000 year＇ s history of the Spinoza. There were many non - normal death factors in the novel, since Gabi consciously utilized all kinds of death descriptions to set up the narrative system. The different types of death as a part of narrative not only served the theme of the novel but also helped connect each part of it, which plugged the gap of the presence of the personae, created the distinctive style and completed the construction of Gabi＇s concept of death.
