An Academic Journey Across America

作者1982—1984年在哈佛大学科学史系做访问学者之际,为了完成自选课题《华裔物理学家对近代物理的贡献》,曾于1982年7月中至8月中进行了一次横跨美国大陆之学术访问旅行。加上前后总共访问或联系过40多位华裔物理学家及工程师。此文仅就访问部分人士的过程作简要介绍。

As a visiting scholar in Department of History of Science, Harvard University, the author had had an academic journey across America continent to meet Chinese origin physicists during July to August 1982, in order to accomplish her project ＂The Contributions of Chinese Origin Physicists to Modern Physics＂. She interviewed or contacted more than 40 Chinese origin physicists and engineers about that time. This article would introduce the visiting journey briefly
