Exploration of Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Publishing House

1929年创办的上海中医书局是民国期间创办最早,也是最大的中医类书业机构。在钱季寅、秦伯未等人的主持下,抗战前的中医书局资本充足,在中医典籍的流通发行方面贡献极大,出版的《影印古本医学丛书》等书籍学术价值很高。后由于战火的影响,中医书局的发展步入低潮。中华人民共和国成立后,中医书局与千顷堂书局等一起组成上海卫生出版社,后又被并入上海科学技术出版社。中医书局的存在时间并不长,但发行出版中医典籍颇多,对其进行研究既可管窥民国中医发展的复杂环境,又能管窥民国中医典籍出版的整体概貌。

Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Publishing House established in 1929 is the earliest and largest publication organization of TCM in the period of the Republic of China. Held by Qian Jiyin and Qin Bowei,the Publishing House had made the great contribution to the adequate fund and publication of TCM books before the Anti-Japanese War. The work published is highly valuable,such as Photoprint Collection of Ancient Books on Medicine. Later,because of the influences of the war,the TCM Publishing House was declined. Since the founding the People＇ s Republic of China,Shanghai Health Press was established by combined the Traditional Chinese Medicine Publishing House together with Qian Qing Tang Publishing House and later,it was merged into Shanghai Science and Technology Press. The history of Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Publishing House is not long,but many TCM works had been published. The study on the development of this Publishing House can explore the complex environment of TCM development as well as the overall of TCM work publication in the period of the Republic of China.
