陈忠实在《白鹿原》中展现的不仅仅是五十多年历史跨度的民族秘史，更是一部女性悲剧史。作品中塑造的女性形象虽不多，却性格各异，命运各不相同，可以说她们形形色色的悲剧互相交织在一起，构成了白鹿原社会的悲剧主流。尤其以白灵为代表的反抗女性，虽然生活在传统观念和新观念交替时期，但勇于挑战传统道德观念、价值观念及男权社会中男性的主导地位，其挑战意义非同凡响。

In White Deer Plain, the author, Chen Zhong - shi not only reveals the inside story of the nation which has a history of more than fifty years old, but also shows the history of female tragedy. There are a few female images in the novel, but each of them has different personality and destiny, in other words, it is the intertwining of their tragedies that constitutes mainstream of the tragedies in the society of White Deer Plain. Bai Ling, a revolted female representative, has the courage to challenge the traditional moral concept, values, the leading role of the men in patriarchal society, which has an extraordinary significance in the special period of alternating of the traditional concept and the new one.
