The Interpersonal Function of Discourse in The Taximan's Story

基于韩礼德的系统功能语言学之人际功能理论,对新加坡现实主义作家林宝音短篇小说《出租车司机的述说》中的话语现象进行研究,分析在男性话语霸权、女性话语失语的权势社会里所体现的人际关系,了解新加坡的社会背景,理解作者的写作意图,探讨作品的主题思想。

Based on the interpersonal function theory of Halliday＇ s systematic-functional linguistics, this paper centers on the discourse in the short novel The Taximan＇ s Story written by Catherine Lira, a Singaporean realistic writer, and analyzes interpersonal relationship in the society of power relation between male hegemony and female aphasia, so as to have better understanding of social background of Singapore and the writing intention of the author as well as the theme of this literarv work.
