This paper classifies the building materials according to the performance of the building materials and introduces the price of the building materials. Then,according to practice,expounds the inf luence of building materials cost fluctuation on construction period and engineering quality. The research indicates that the continuous rise of building materials will delay the construction period and reduce the engineering quality.
