An effective method is given to diagnose the stability of the rotor system by using the characteristics of oil film force. As an example, the bearing load of a 200MW turbine generator is identified, and the load distribution, the dynamic load of the bearing and the stability of rotor system are tested and analyzed. The results have a practical significance on the stability and security of large turbine generator set. A system including software and hardware is developed to realize the pressure method.
