The Impact of Translation and Interpreting Industry on Regional Economic Development

本文通过考察和分析当前中国翻译产业的现状、存在的问题及对策,探讨了翻译产业对区域经济发展的影响。在全球化背景下,翻译产业对促进区域经济的可持续发展将产生越来越重要的影响,在改变经济结构和发展模式,提升产业的国际竞争力和塑造区域形象和文化身份方面尤其如此。政府、企业和高校必须高度重视翻译产业在区域经济发展中的重要性,加快翻译的产业化进程。

This paper explores the impact of translation and interpreting(TI) industry on regional economic development by examining the situation,problems and possible solutions of China's TI industry.It argues that TI industry plays an increasingly important part in the sustainable development of regional economy in the global context,especially in changing regional economic structure and growth pattern,promoting international competitiveness and shaping the regional images and identities.Therefore,governmental agencies,enterprises and universities must fully acknowledge the importance of TI industry in regional economic development and further promote the industrialization of China's TI industry.
