The Chinese American writer Bette Bao Lord presents a multidimensional flow of Chinese time and space successfully in her full-length novel Spring Moon. The stretching and extension of its space and time form the main thread of the whole book,which makes the novel take on the style of Chinese epic narration. Based on the explicit and implicit ＂codes＂in the novel,the whole narrative time frame of Spring Moon can be inferred. At the same time,the novel draws a map of China with various scenes. The author visualizes the Chinese image from the perspective of different cities,which embodies her strong subjective color and imagination. The two main lines of family and nationality alternately intersperse in the novel,and the family narration is founded in the historical narrative of the nation. The rational use of space-time factors makes the whole novel coherent and well-knit.
