摘要
华裔美国作家包柏漪在其长篇小说《春月》中成功地展示了多维度的中国时间与空间,时间与空间的延伸、扩张构成全篇的主要脉络,小说具有中国史诗性叙事的风格。根据小说中设置的显性的和隐性的时间"密码",可以推断出《春月》整部小说的叙事时间框架。同时,小说勾画了一幅幅各具风光的中国空间地图。作者将中国的形象具象化到城市,这些城市印象带有作者强烈的主观色彩与想象成分。家族与民族两条主线在小说里交替穿插,家族叙事建构在民族的历史叙事之上。时空因素的合理运用使整部小说显得条理清晰,结构严谨。
The Chinese American writer Bette Bao Lord presents a multidimensional flow of Chinese time and space successfully in her full-length novel Spring Moon. The stretching and extension of its space and time form the main thread of the whole book,which makes the novel take on the style of Chinese epic narration. Based on the explicit and implicit "codes"in the novel,the whole narrative time frame of Spring Moon can be inferred. At the same time,the novel draws a map of China with various scenes. The author visualizes the Chinese image from the perspective of different cities,which embodies her strong subjective color and imagination. The two main lines of family and nationality alternately intersperse in the novel,and the family narration is founded in the historical narrative of the nation. The rational use of space-time factors makes the whole novel coherent and well-knit.
