The principle and features of SEM equipped with EDS were introduced, the main applications of SEM in the iron and steel enterprises were expounded. Several ways of EDS analysis and its application were described. Finally, in terms of some aspects such as the process of the production, preparing and grinding the sample, marking the sample, the factors of sample preparation affecting the EDS analysis result were analyzed and summarized.
