WutheringHeights is a classic novel of love and revenge as well as of true-to-life characterization, through which Emily Bronte illustrates her aesthetic approach to the delineation of Heathcliff, the avenger, and the love tragedies. This essay focuses on the strong sense of horror and its implication to reveal the artistic tension and vitality inherent in the novel.
