龙门石窟玄照龛功德主的考辨

A Study on the Funder of the Construction of the Xuanzhao Niche in the Longmen Grottos

在龙门石窟唐代玄照龛的田野调查基础上,结合文献史料,对造像题记进行分析与考证,认为此龛像功德主并非唐初王玄策奉高宗敕命赴追的西行求法高僧——玄照法师,并进一步指出在没有确凿证据的情况下,应慎重对待关涉历史名人的造像题记。

Base on a field investigation of the Xuanzhao niche and with reference to historical texts, this paper does textual research of the inscription on the niche and thinks the founder of the niche was not the Buddhist master Xuanzhao, who was invited to return to the Tang dynasty, accompanied by Wang Xuance, under the order of the early Tang emperor Gaozong. The author also notes that statue inscriptions relating to historical figures should be treated rigorously.
