Formalism: A Concentrated Manifestation of Weak Party Spirit

党员干部队伍中长期存在的形式主义等"四风"问题,就是党性薄弱的表现。形式主义违背群众意志、脱离人民群众、损害群众利益,它同为人民服务这个党的根本宗旨相背离。脱离实际、违背规律是形式主义的实践特征,它同党的实事求是的思想路线相背离,其造成的实践后果是资源被破坏、风气被败坏。一些党员干部热衷于搞形式主义,欺上瞒下,实际上就是对党和人民事业缺乏忠诚,要从维护政治纪律严肃性的高度,提高反对形式主义的政治站位。

Like bureaucracy; hedonism and extravagance, formalism has been a long-standing problem affecting the ranks of the Party members and officials, and it is also a manifestation of weak Party spirit. Formalism goes against the will of the people, is divorced from the people and damages the interests of the people. It deviates from the Party＇s fundamental purpose of serving the people. Ignoring the reality and violating the objective laws are the characteristics of the practices of formalism. It deviates from the Party＇s ideological line of seeking truth from facts and its practical consequences include the damage of the resources and the tarnishing of the social atmosphere. Some Party members and officials are keen to engage in formalism and make false reports. They are actually lacking in loyalty to the cause of the Party and the people. We must stress the need to maintain the authority of political discipline and be more politically mindful in opposing formalism.
