戚继光出身将门,一生久历沙场,在抵御倭寇、训练士兵、修筑长城、改进兵器和阵法等方面,都做出了巨大的贡献;并且,他勤于著述,笔耕不辍,在军事学术领域造诣深厚。他是一位既有丰富实战经验,又有很高理论水平的承前继后的著名军事家,同时也是继岳飞之后的又一位著名的民族英雄。

Qi Jiguang was born in a general＇ s family. All his life he fought on many battlefields. With respect to resisting the Japanese invaders, drilling the army, buiiding the defense walls and improving weapons and tactical formations, he rendered tremendous amount of contributions. Moreover, he wrote a lot of books. He was especially good at the military academic studies. So he both is a famous military strategist who had rich fighting experience and high theoretical level, but also is another national hero after Yue Fei.
