The Origin of the Family,Private Property and the State is one of the basic Marxist works. Beginning with historicarl records,it interprets the slavery in civilized society and discusses the origin of state. It not only reveals that state is the product of irreconcilable class conflict,but also provides scientific research methods for scholars. Retaining a restless research,Friedrich Engels thought of laws of society rigorously with basic principles of historical materialism. He read the historical materials as much as possible,then prompted the study of history including study of history of primitive society.Engels＇ excellent style of study and scientific methods are worthy of learning.
