[Objective] To evaluate the nutritional status of inpatients with hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases by using the Body Composition Assessment(BCA), understand the occurrence of malnutrition, and provide the basis for reasonable and appropriate nutrition improvement methods. [Methods] BCA nutritional assessment, physical measurement and laboratory examination were performed in 135 hospitalized patients with hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, who were collected by the cluster sampling. [Results] The malnutrition rate in 135 patients with hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases was 67.41%(91 cases), including 14 cases of mild malnutrition, 21 cases of moderate malnutrition and 56 cases of severe malnutrition. The malnutrition rate in males(79.17%) was higher than that in females(53.96%). The age and triceps skinfold(TSF) in severe malnutrition groups were higher than those in normal group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P〈0.05). The serum prealbumin was significantly correlated with age, body mass index, total protein, albumin, creatinine and lymphocytes(all P〈0.05). [Conclusion] The malnutrition rate in patients with hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases is high. Early nutrition treatment can improve the quality of life of patients with hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases.
