Public optional courses is important for improving the quality of personnel training and overall quality of students in universities, promoting the society＇s demand for composite talents. It is also a significant content of the implementation of teaching quality reform in colleges and universities. The paper starts from the existing problems in public optional courses in newly-built undergraduate universities, such as problems in teaching management, class selection, and teaching. It discusses how to speed up the teaching reform of public optional courses in newly-built undergraduate unversities so as to improve the teaching quality of public optional courses.
