佛祖渡恶鬼传说之民间信仰意涵

Implication on Folk Belief of the Legend of Buddha and Devil

台湾民间信仰经常流传有神佛显灵事迹,灵验传说实反映出当地信仰思维与人文关怀。通过台湾花莲县光复乡保安寺佛祖渡恶鬼传说,探讨民间信仰观之形成,以及佛祖显灵事迹强化信徒对信仰的力度。该传说源自于当地一宗骇人听闻的命案,藉由地方人士对此案凶嫌与案件之记忆,以及该案相关报纸报导、司法判决档案之记载,于厘清命案真相的同时,得见民间传说如何反映事实,而案件"真相"于不同载体间所呈现之差异性,亦表现出事件真相于人为形塑过程之作用因素。

In Taiwan,the folk belief always is related to the legend of Buddha and devil which reflects the relationship between local people＇s belief and their humanistic concern. Based on the legend of Buddha and devil in the temples of Hualian County,the present study discussed the formation of folk belief and its power to the believers. Originating from the murder case in the local county,the legend reflects the fact based on the record of newspaper and verdict. However,the differences among different versions reflect the man＇s factor on the formation process of the legend.
