Zhang Qian was sent to the Western Regions on a diplomatic mission in 138 BC, breaking through a South-North road from the Han Dynasty to the Western Regions, namely the Silk Road, and realizing exchanges between the East and the West in ancient time. The Silk Road has a history of 2,254 years since it was pioneered, but it should have a longer history judging from archaeological discoveries.
