台儿庄的崇善堂药铺以熬制专治跌打损伤的中药膏药为主，又兼精通小儿科、妇科，在鲁南苏北一带颇有名气。93岁的宋建英老人，当时就住在崇善堂药铺。她的外祖母是崇善堂的掌柜，母亲在崇善堂坐诊。宋建英的父亲在粮行做量斗大伙计，一家人一如台儿庄的众多商户家庭一样普通。然而在日伪统治时期，宋建英家的生活发生了巨大的变化。

In Taierzhuang, 93-year-old Song Jianying's grandmother was the keeper of Chongshantang, and his mother served as a doctor in Chongshantang.Song Jianying's husband is Lyu Yudong, who was a soldier of the Lianyungang-Lanzhou Southward Detachment of the Eighth Route Army("Southward Detachment"). The detachment was not only the first anti-Japanese armed force led by the CPC in Northern Jiangsu, but also the predecessor of the 39 th Brigade of the New Fourth Army.In the spring of 1946, Lyu Yudong,who had been wounded in the Battle of Jiehe, Teng County, then returned to his hometown Taierzhuang for recuperation. Shortly after he came back, Commander Chen Yi with seven or eight guards visited him. Seeing that Lyu Yudong with wounds had no place to live, Chen Yi gave some money to Lyu's mother to buy a house.
