The ability of think ing is one of the elements of the core accomplishments of the English discipl ine, and the innovative think ing is the core of the a b i lity of th in k in g. This paper takes the text adaptation as an example and explores in practice to cultivate students＇ innovative thinking through English textbook play adaptation and performance, which is based on the teaching model of RISE （ reading-inquir ing- sharing-expressing）.
