摘要
Highly active antiretroviral therapy(HAART)is used globally and has significantly reduced the morbidity, mortality, and transmission of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-related illness. However, the attendant shortcomings such as toxic side effects, necessity of life-long therapy that is expensive, and inefficiency in eradicating latent viral infections have greatly limited the application of HAART.
