多年来,以"西方"哲学和"东方"哲学为出发点,学界对可持续发展提出了更加全面、综合的观点。与此同时,并不存在普适性的发展模式这一认识也在学界成了主旋律。发展是一个不可分割的、多维的、辩证的过程,在不同的社会、社区和环境下是不同的。可持续发展传播已经开始着手解决的具体关注点和问题有粮食安全、农村发展和生计、自然资源管理和环境、减贫、公平和性别以及信息通信技术。然而,传播中的可持续性、参与性和文化性的观点随着时间的推移产生了变化,与此保持步调一致的是发展方式和趋势的演变,以及解决新问题和区分优先级所需传播方式和工具的有效应用。在本文中,作者尝试从理论和实践两个方面鉴别可以利用的不同"社会变迁传播"方式。他们从可持续性的角度评估了其相关性和重要性,并在研究和政策层面提出一个评估传播影响的可持续性指标框架,以及一个评估社区层面的可持续性的模式。

Over the years, different perspectives, based on both "western"and "eastern"philosophical starting points, have resulted in a more holistic and integrated vision of sustainable development. At the same time, a unifying theme is that there is no universal development model. Development is an integral,multidimensional, and dialectic process that differs from society to society, community to community, context to context. Communication in sustainable development has started to address the specific concerns and issues of food security, rural development and livelihood,natural resource management and environment,poverty reduction, equity and gender, and information and communication technology(ICT). However, perspectives on sustainability,participation and culture in communication changed over time in line with the evolution of development approaches and trends, and the need for effective applications of communication methods and tools to new issues and priorities. In this paper we attempt to identify the different approaches on Communication for Social Change available both in theory and praxis. We will assess their relevance and importance from the perspective of sustainability, and present a framework of sustainability indicators for impact assessment at the research and policy level, as well as a model to assess sustainability at a community level.
