The flammability limits for seven binary mixtures were measured experimentally as per the Chinese National Standard GB/T12474-90.They were propane/trifluoroiodomethane,propane/tetrafluoromethane,1,1-difluoroethane/tetrafluoromethane,methane/hexafluoroethane,1,1-difluoroethane/trifluoroiodomethane,ethane/trifluoroiodomethane and methane/trifluoroiodomethane.All measurements were carried out at atmospheric pressure and room temperature around 20℃ with an estimated uncertainty below 0.27mol%.The extended Le Chatelier’s formula was further developed to interpret the dilution effect of fully halogenated hydrocarbons on the flammability limits of flammable refrigerant mixtures.Numerical analysis was carried out using the above modified formula for newly measured experimental data.It is found that the modified formula can fit the flammability limit data of individual refrigerant diluted with the fully halogenated hydrocarbons very well.
