Liu Gongmian is an important figure of the Yangzhou School in studying the annotation of The Analects of Confucius.He insisted on the academic spirit of the Yangzhou School in the late Qing Dynasty when the study of Gongyang Commentary boomed.He wrote the book of Hexiu＇s Annotation of the Analects of Confucius,which is a unique one in the studies of The Analects of Confucius in the late Qing Dynasty.
