虾青素的神经保护作用机制研究进展

Recent Advances in Neuroprotective Mechanisms of Astaxanthin in Acute Brain Injury and Neurodegenerative Disease

虾青素是一种类胡萝卜素,是海洋生物体内主要的类胡萝卜素之一。具有多种生物学活性,包括抗氧化、抗炎和抗凋亡等药理学活性。最近越来越多研究显示,其具有神经保护作用。近年来研究显示,其在体内、外具有广泛的神经保护作用,在脑缺血和神经退行性疾病中的神经保护作用取得了一定进展,笔者就对虾青素在脑缺血和神经退行性疾病中的基础研究进行了总结,归纳了其在实验动物及细胞实验水平药理学活性、可能的神经保护作用机制。

Astaxanthin（3,3′-dihydroxy-β,β′-carotene-4,4′-dione,ATX）,a xanthophyll carotenoid produced naturally and synthetically,is a red-orange carotenoid with unique cell membrane actions and diverse biological activities.The beneficial effects of astaxanthin are linked to its oxidative,anti-inflammatory,and anti-apoptotic characteristics.More importantly,there is evidence demonstrating that astaxanthin confers neuroprotective effects in experimental models of neurological diseases.In this review,we will provides up-to-date information on the neuroprotective properties of astaxanthin in mitigating neuropathy in acute brain injury and neurodegenerative disease,and discuss its mechanistic details relating preclinical studies.
